Fashion Your Future: My take on a “Work at Home” venture

Many mothers are turning to working at home these days. They are trying to reduce the costs of transportation and daycare expenses. I recently have joined that bandwagon. A few months ago I signed up to be an Independant Consultant for Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski Group.

Swarovski Group is a very popular brand that is well known for revolutionizing the work of precision-cut crystals. They decided to bring their reputation from the red carpet and hollywood to the homes of everyday women. Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski sells beautiful jewelry under five collections: (1) City, (2) Romantic, (3) Resort, (4) Weekend and (5) Little Black Dress.

Above you will find some of my favorite pieces from each collection.

As you can see, Touchstone Crystal has the gorgeous factor down when it comes to jewelry.

They also offer amazing incentives for the host, guests and the consultant. Currently for the month of March, host of a Touchstone Crystal party get $60 for only $10. In addition to receiving FREE  jewelry and half-priced jewelry you receive just for hosting a party. Guests of a Touchstone Crystal party get 30% off any item with a $100 purchase.  There is a special every month. Plus countless numbers of incentives for the Independent Consultants. I’ve never felt like I belonged more than I feel it with Touchstone Crystal. Everyone is so supportive and helpful. Its a community!

Of course, I’ve been working at my own paces. But, I have been told so many stories about people who sale 5-6 digits on Touchstone Crystal and I believe it. Women will always pay to look gorgeous. Jewelry is here to stay. It may change with the times and trends, but women will ALWAYS wear jewelry; they will always want to look and feel beautiful. So, I think Touchstone Crystal is on the right path. I think it is a wonderful way help women make more money, set their own hours and meet new people.

My reasons for joining Touchstone Crystal were (1) to make more money for my family, (2) being a single mother is and can be very financially straining- I was looking for something better, (3) To meet more people and broaden my friendship circle, (4)and to spend more time with my kids. My reasons for staying with Touchstone Crystal are (1) the beautiful jewelry that makes it easy to sell, (2) the great incentives provided to me as a Consultant, (3) getting to spend time with my children. I think Touchstone Crystal can be rewarding on both ends: The Consultant and the Customer. You just have to try it!

I work out!

Happy Springtime! Springtime to some means flowers, sunshine, warm weather, rainy days, more time outside with the family, cookouts, etc. But, to the lot of us, spring is just a reminder that summer is right around the corner. Which means bikinis, beaches, short shorts, mini skirts and all things sexy.

So, with that being said, we are walking, not running to the gym, starting up our fitness routines and dieting like crazy. We want a hot beach body to show off for summer, lose for Thanksgiving and do it all over again come 2014. Right?

Well, I thought I would share my fitness goals and routine. Firstly, I don’t like to diet. I LLLOOOVVVEEEE to eat. I’m from the South, it’s a requirement! But, honestly, I have had two children and my body is just not the same. Plus, I have this mysterious thing under my back and above my thighs that popped out like, “Wow!”  So trust me I have a lot to lose. But, although I do set a number goal of weight to lose (that I will never share), I just want to look in the mirror and feel like I look good. That’s my ultimate goal. Here is a picture of how I used to look before I got pregnant with my first child….

So, that is me and all my 116 lb glory. Now, I don’t want to look exactly like that, but close wouldn’t hurt.

So, here is what I do…

Wake up in the morning, do about 400 crunches and a Pilates crunch workout that I found on youtube. You can find it on my facebook page. It works me to the core and I know my abs will love me in the end.

Then I do a hour long Pilates workout called, “Crunch: Burn and Firm Pilates.” It’s part of a 4 DVD set (Crunch Compete Pilates), but I found this particular DVD to work for me the best.

Then I walk at sometime during the day. I usually walk down the street to Circle K. Its not long, but I like to walk a little during the day.

I eat healthy, but I don’t buckle myself down and pressure myself to eat only healthy items. For example, I do have cheat days. Not many, but if I do cheat, I make up for it by working out extra hard or eating better for a week or two.

I like the Atkins diet, but I like bread. That’s my cheat item. Atkins is not a long-term diet because you need those other vitamins that non-carb items don’t provide. But, with Atkins you don’t have to workout because the weight is suppose to just fall off withing the first two weeks. But I like to workout so I eat a few carb items now and then.

But,  i love spinach salads with bacon, grilled chicken, cheese and ranch dressing. I also love spinach salad with baked meatballs. Something interesting: When I started eating salads at least twice  a day, bad foods (chocolate, pasta) didn’t taste the same to me, so it added to the dieting. I also stay away from sweets and chips. If I want something sweet, I go for fruit or sugar-free gum.

But, that is what I do. You don’t have to follow me, but feel free to take away what you want. I think dieting and exercise together is the best combo, but you have to find a plan that works for YOU!

What workout/diet plans do you like or have tried and didn’t work. Leave comments!

Sometimes Mommy Wants Some Alone Time, but…

Sometimes Mommy Wants Some Alone Time, but….

Sometimes Mommy Wants Some Alone Time, but…

As a mother, I am sure I am not alone on this one. I love my children. LOVE THEM. But, being with them all day everyday is on a whole new level. They aren’t in daycare and I’m out of work. And I have the nerve to think that I want to work at home from now on. How on earth am I going to do this?

Tonight is one of those times where I don’t want to be touched; I don’t want to be climbed on and I don’t want to share all of my food. You’ve been there, right? Well, a single mothers‘ job is NEVER done. Yes, we do it all and rarely get a break. Thumbs up to all of my single mothers/fathers out there. I know some may say, “Well, you asked for this. No one told you to have a child alone, or leave your husband, or do whatever got you into this predicament ” Well, y’all can just shut up! Yep, I said it. I’m happy, but happiness comes with down days.

So what do you do? Sometimes, Mommy needs a timeout. Wouldn’t it be great if I could just drop them off at their Nana or Grammy’s house and have a spa day? Aahhh…

What would I love to do? Let’s see. I would just love a night out with my girls and my cousins. Great food, some drinks and lots of laughs. No kids allowed. Just one night in the three years I’ve been a parent. I don’t think one night every few months is too much to ask. But, I can’t tell my kids that. They might grow up with some kind of complex. So I just say, “Not now, Peyton” and turn on NickJr or Doc McStuffins. I’m so thankful to the creators and producers of NickJr. You have no idea. They have given me shower time, homework time, nap time and even phone time. Yes, I admit it: I am addicted to my children watching NickJr. lol.

But, I digress. What do you gals do when you need a MommyBreak?

Mad Man Crush Monday!

Am I the only one who thinks that Robert Kardashian is super cute. I just can’t get over it. He may be the little brother of the Kardashian tribe, but I think he is destined for big things. Rob has those Malibu bad boy on the inside looks with just enough angst to drive ladies crazy. Or maybe they are just concerned about the Kardashian dynasty and his sisters. Not me, I like Rob. I just want to talk to him and see what he actually has to say about the world. Can he actually talk about word events? What’s his ultimate goal? Boxers or briefs? All of that.

I mean, look at him. I just love a man in a good suit. Yummy! And don’t get me started on those kissable lips…

Your thoughts…Who is your man or lady crush?

First off: Welcome to Bella Fierce Mama. Bella Fierce is my alter ego. She as her name states is beautiful and fierce, comfortable in her own skin, and inspires other women to own it, work it and be the best. Yes, we all can be the best.

A little about myself. I am a single mother of two: Peyton, 3, and Justin, 10-months. I am going through a divorce, which is much needed. I very much still believe in marriage and have not given up on true love. But, I feel you have to be on one accord to make a marriage work and most of all you have to be in love. Without love, it’ll never last. Case and point.

Right now, I am in a transition in life. I want to be a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasound technician). So I am applying to a few school and awaiting responses. Today, I actually got a call from my top choice stating I was selected for an interview. Yay!

Being single, although may not be what others think, is not as frustrating as people make it out to be. I want to fall in love, but I don’t want to fall for an incognito creep and have my children suffer. I know I can’t miss out just because of fear. But, I can be cautious, right?

Anyways, this is kinda lengthy. So I’ll end here. Thanks for reading. Please follow often and leave comments to let me know your thoughts. I’m going to be doing a Man Crush Monday post later.
