Man Crush Monday

JJ Watt

I moved to Houston a few months ago and was stopped in my television tracks when I seen this hunk all over my tv commericals. He is a defensive end for the Houston Texans and sexy. I don’t know of his relationship status, but I seen a few names pop up under girlfriend for him. One in particular is an Canadian-born, American soccer player who is a Black girl. (So he likes ebony-I have a chance.) But, no pictures together and no definite answers. That tell me he is focused on his career.

Justin James Watt was born March 22, 1989. He is 24 years old. He is from Wisconsin where he played college football also and decided to enter the draft instead of continue his last year. He was drafted by the Texans in 2011 (11th overall pick) and signed a 4-year contract worth over $11 million. In 2013 he was voted the NFL Defensive Player of the Year with 49 out of 50 votes and was number 5 on the list of NFL’s Top 100. He has a lot of stats that I’m thinking are really good or he would not have won that recognition. But, I honestly, can not give you something I don’t understand myself.

Y’all know I like a charitable man. Mr. Watt founded and serves on the board of directors of the Justin J. Watt Foundation. This gives  support to after-school athletic programs in Texas as well as Wisconsin. You may have seen him on the Play 60 commercials. Last April, he held the J.J. Watt Charity Classic in Sugar Land, Texas. This was a charity softball game and silent auction that raised over $300,000 to help fund after-school athletic programs for children. There is another one coming up on May 2, 2014 in Sugarland, Texas. Tickets are on sale online at I will try to be in attendance.

I couldn’t find any magazine pictures, so we need to get him on some covers all GQ’ed and HD’d out. But I hope these few pictures will suffice.

I am into this man and he is off limits. I call dibs. Any info on hangouts of his please comment below.

I finally got a new job

I can not tell you exactly how excited I am to be joining the world of employment once again. I have been unemployed for almost a year. Finding work when you can’t afford daycare for your kids without working is the biggest Catch-22 of my life. I need day care so I can go to work, but can’t get day care until I get paid from working. And don’t get me started on not having a car. Luckily, I don’t mind riding the bus. But for this job, I don’t have to. Thank God!

I’m not going to mention where I’m going to be working. But, it’s in Houston, Texas, I’m making more and I get benefits. So I am more than happy and overly blessed.

Children are the greatest blessing that God can give us. Being able to successfully take care of those kids is the greatest accomplishment we can do as parents. This last year has been hard on me and humbling. I’m one of those people who likes going to work. Even if I married a billionaire, I wouldn’t stop working. I have to do something valuable with my time. Though, I love my kids, I NEED to talk to some adults. I need to talk about Scandal (Feb. 25-yeah); I need to talk about the economy; I need to talk about the war in Syria. Anything, because I’m tired of talking about My Little Pony and The Chica Show. I’m sure someone out there understands me.

As always, I welcome your comments and please follow me on my various other social media sites.

Am I too old to start again on my dream????

So, I find myself in a place in my life where I can make a decision on what I really want to do with my life. I made a decision to go back to school for ultrasound. I’m fine with that decision. I think that can be something that I can do and enjoy. But as I watch tv, I can’t help but desire my old goal. I always wanted to be an actress. I moved to L.A. to pursue, but gave it up for the wrong reason. After I had children, I just figured it was too late to start over with it.

But, I love acting. I know I’m good at it. I want to act! This is more than just some thing I think I will be good at that I’m really not good at. I love the feeling of acting, being on stage, on camera. It’s indescribable. But I just don’t want to fail at another thing. Or give up on another thing.

I don’t want to be 50 years old and still living from pay check to pay check. But I also don’t want to be 50 years old and never reach my full potential.

But, with children, I have to be more practical. I have to find a job that is going to keep the bills paid and a roof over my kids’ head.

Dream vs. Reality?

Shoe Shopping With a Princess

Shoe Shopping With a Princess.

Shoe Shopping With a Princess

Yesterday, the kids dad and I got together and took the kids shoe shopping. It was time. I’ve put it off too long and they were overdue. How overdue? Peyton jumped from a size 7 to size 10 in like no time. One day her size 7 shoes were fitting fine with a little room to spare; next thing I know the shoe sales woman say “size 10.” I wanted to ask her if she was reading it right, but didn’t want to insult her.

My little princess is growing up so fast. Peyton tried on five pairs of shoes. I tried steering her toward the multi-colored Hello Kitty flats with white strings. Her dad tried, very hard, to make her like his choice: the gray Hello Kitty flats. But, no one could change Princess Peyton’s mind. At first, she was settled on some Disney Princess open top shoes. Once she finally understood that those were too big, she settled for the Princess Ariel purple light up flats.

Her dad didn’t understand why we didn’t just pick one and let that be it. But, what he does not understand is: I am letting her get used to making choices in life. Yes, she is three years old and life is basically handed to her, but she has to get her independence eventually. If she makes her own choices, she will be a leader, make good life decisions and learn to voice her opinion. On the other hand, she may also become a spoiled brat, but with me as her mom-that is unlikely. Girls are princesses and when she gets older, she better find a man who is going to continue to treat her as such. It’s her God given birth rite.

But, seriously. This may seem like a puff piece. But, it’s not. I’m not one of those moms who has to control every little detail in my child’s life. I want my children to be independent and to know what they want in life. I personally think it is important. I was very shy as a child, and even now. I hardly ever would say what I really wanted or how I really felt. I don’t want that for my children. I want them to be social, outgoing, and vocal. This method may or may not work, but if it doesn’t- I can always start a new method with Justin.

Mad Man Crush Monday!

Ian Somerhalder

I am very familiar with Mr. Somerhalder, at least his resume’. He is the star of the cult tv show, The Vampire Diaries, which I am a huge fan. He plays the sexy, bad boy vampire, Damon Salvatore. His breakout role was in Lost as Boone Carlyle, the dead guy. In an ironic twist, he was the first person to be cast in a role for the series and the first character to die on the series. But, his character did return throughout the series.

I just found out today, that he was born and raised in Covington, Louisiana. I’m from Baton Rouge. I know we have some good looking men here, but I didn’t know we were making them that hot! I guess Louisiana really does like it HOTT! He was born December 8, 1978. He attended Catholic school in Covington and began modeling at just 10-years old. He started acting at 17 and soon became a staple in teen and young adult hearts everywhere.

What you may not know about Ian Somerhalder is he is a huge philanthropist. I follow his twitter feed and he is big on giving back. He has a heart for the environment and animals. He was actively involved in the cleanup of the Deepwater Horizon oil drilling disaster. He also is a supporter of the St. Tammany Humane Society. In 2010, he hosted a Bash on the Bayou to raised funds for the St. Tammany Humane Society. He also started the Ian Somerhalder Foundation to raise awareness of how important it is to save the environment and animals. He also participated in the It Gets Better campaign which aims to prevent suicide deaths among the LGBT community. So, he is a do-gooder in every sense of the word.

Relationship-wise, Ian Somerhalder is supposed to be dating his co-star Nina Dobrev, but reports are circulating that they have gone through a recent break-up. This is because they are usually attached at the hip and haven’t been seen together is quite awhile. He is also up for a role for the movie version of the book, Fifty Shades of Grey. This is supposedly a reason for his breakup also. But, today the blogs are saying that they visited her parents in Canada over Easter weekend. So, who knows.

I think Ian Somerhalder is really hot, he has a brain and he loves the give back. Who said there is no such thing as a perfect man? They might be wrong, I’ll  have to meet him to know for sure.

Here is a little eye candy for your enjoyment. As always, Enjoy.

 You’re welcome.

Review of the show “Blue” starring Julia Stiles

This show is excellent. Its one from the new generation of dramas. Its online. You can find it at

The synopsis is a single mother working two jobs to support her and her teenage son. This is where normal stops. Blue is a part-time escort. She meets men is hotel rooms, makes them feel good, gets paid for it and leaves. While with these men, she doesn’t let on that she doesn’t like it or is weirded out. One client was dress in nothing else but a diaper, processed to suck his thumb while she spooned him and tickled his chest. Her response when asked was it good? “It was good.”

I admit when I first thought about Julia Stiles, america’s sweetheart, playing an escort, I couldn’t picture it. There are times that I feel that it doesn’t quite fit, but I don’t know if that is my reservations from seeing her act in previous films or from the screen. But, nevertheless, she does a great job. She comes off comfortable in the lingerie and as a mother. She plays a very laid back mother, but not a pushover. She talks to her son about sex, porn and treating girls right.  She displays wonderfully to the watcher that she has a secret life that no one knows about.

The mother-son dynamic is great. You wouldn’t think that Blue and Josh, the son, do not talk about his school-life and feeling much. He seems very likeable, smart and charismatic  He is a joker, but is taking AP Physic, so he’s also a nerd. During the second episode, I thought, “oh, he is a good boy. They have a good relationship despite his age and they actually talk, unlike most parent-child relationships.” But as shown in the later episodes, Josh has an anger inside of him that is calling for attention. He wants to know who his father is, but Blue will not tell him. He gets in trouble at school and what the principal tells Blue, is shocking to even me as a watcher.

I give this show 5 Fierce Stars. Its a good drama. The episodes only last less than 10-minutes. They have you wanting more and more and more. I want to know more about Blue. I want to know about her relationship with her mother, her sister, her exes and how was her life in her old neighborhood. I’m about to tune in to season two, so I will soon find out.

I suggest you take a look at “Blue.” I think everyone will enjoy it.

Idris Elba on the cover of Jet Magazine

Idris Elba on the cover of Jet Magazine

Ladies, you already know enough about The Sexy Mr. Elba. But, I’m gonna tell you a little more.

Idris Elba was born in East London on September 6, 1972. (Making him 40 years old, ladies.) His mother is Ghanian and his father is Sierra Leonean. He started out helping his uncle DJ weddings and within a year he started his own DJing company. He goes by the DJ moniker of DJ Big Driis or DJ Driis the Londoner.

He started acting in high school. We mostly know him from the HBO show “The Wire” where he played Russell “Stringer” Bell, a druglord or “Daddy’s Little Girls” as Monty . He has also won our hearts (and dreams) from him work in Obsession (opposite Beyonce’), The Losers, Takers, The Big C, This Christmas or many many others. You can find his full list of works here. Word is that he is taking a hiatus from acting to focus on his music, so soon we will hear him in the clubs. I love a Renaissance Man!

Idris Elba has an ex-wife and a daughter who are said to be living in Atlanta. As far as I found, he is single. But, you never know with our Hollywood boys. He is sexy. I am in LOVE with his accent, even though he seamlessly goes to an American accent. He is the sexy chocolate of our dreams.

DID YOU KNOW that Idris Elba co-produced a track on Jay-Z’s
American Gangster” album?

Here’s a little more of his Sexiness…Enjoy…

Touchstone Tuesday!

Hello, Everyone. On this Tuesday, I would like to share with you one of my favorite pieces from Touchstone Crystal.

The choice piece is the Divine Necklace…

The Divine necklace is a part of the City collection.  I like to describe this collection as pieces you can wear out on the town. Whether its dinner with the girls, the club or the after party, the city collection goes great with any outfit.

I think this piece would be fascinating with an all black pencil skirt dress. Of course, stilettos are a must! Something with a modest neckline and not too flashy. Let, the jewelry do the talking for you. Hair? A nice up-do or soft bun would look gorgeous.

The Touchstone Crystal describes the Divine necklace as “Xilion Pear, Baguette and Cosmic Fancy stones in Black Diamond, Crystal Silver Shade and Crystal are set in palladium plating.” the necklace runs from 16˝ to 19˝ in length and has a lobster claw closure. The price is $165.

You’re Not Sane If You Don’t Talk To Your Belly Fat

Motivation. That’s the topic today. I find it helpful to discourage those little fat cells that are plaguing my midsection. The nerve.

If you learn what motivates you, chances are you’ll keep up the good work. You’ll stay on the right track for reaching your fitness goals. You just have to find creative and effective ways to stay motivated.

My favorite: I stand in the mirror, shirt off, point to my midsection and say “In a months time, you aren’t going to be here!” It may seems weird, but when I do it, I feel like I’m telling the truth. I feel like I am looking into the future and actualizing what I want to happen. I know that if I keep exercising and eating right, that all of that fat will not be there in a months time.

“Go Away!”

“I’m getting rid of you!”

“I’m going to look so good!”

These are some of the statements that I tell myself. It helps. While I am doing those hundreds of crunches and my neck is hurting and my abs are shaking, I just tell myself how great I am going to look in a two-piece without a cover-up; something that I haven’t worn in years.
